Tasks and responsibilities

 

  • Development and implementation of IT governance strategies: Creating and updating IT governance policies and procedures that meet regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance: Monitoring and compliance with regulatory and internal requirements and their integration into the IT strategy.
  • Risk management: Identification and assessment of IT risks and development and monitoring of measures to minimise risks.
  • IT controls and audits: Planning and implementation of internal IT controls and co-operation with external and internal auditors during IT audits.
  • Business Continuity Management: Develop and monitor contingency and recovery plans to ensure continuity of IT services and minimise potential disruptions.
  • 3rd Party Service Provider Management (Outsourcing Management): Management and monitoring of external IT service providers and their compliance with contractual requirements, including security, availability and data protection requirements.
  • Reporting: Regular reporting to management and supervisory authorities on the status of IT governance, IT risks and compliance measures.
  • Coordination with departments: Work closely within the IT department as well as with Compliance, Legal, Audit and Risk Management to ensure that all governance requirements are considered in projects and operations.
  • Optimisation of IT processes: Promotion of best practices in IT governance and security management and identification of potential for improvement.

Qualifications and requirements

 

  • Conclusion: Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, business informatics, IT management or a comparable field.
  • Professional experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in IT governance, IT compliance, IT audit or IT risk management, ideally in the banking or financial sector as well as relevant experience in a consulting firm.
  • Knowledge of regulations and standards: Good knowledge of the relevant regulations (e.g. EBA guidelines, DORA, PSD2, BAIT etc.) as well as international standards such as ISO 27001, COBIT or ITIL.
  • Analytical skills: Strong understanding of IT risk assessment and management, problem solving skills and a structured way of working.
  • Communication skills: Strong communication and presentation skills in German and English as well as the ability to present complex issues in an understandable way.
  • Ability to work in a team: Ability to co-operate and co-ordinate with various departments and external auditors.

Based on 38.5 hours per week, a minimum salary for banks and bankers. The amount of overpayment depends on your qualifications and experience.
